    About
    Le Cerisier

Le Cerisier is an old Maison de Maître with magnificent double height ceilings, located on a quiet road in the centre of Sainte Foy la Grande, a medieval Bastide (fortress) town, founded by Alphonse de Poitiers, dating back to the 13th century. A protestant city since the 16th century, it has been subject to a number of successive influences. The orthogonal layout is one of the most representative of the new towns of the Middle Ages.

Our secluded garden is a haven of tranquillity, with its nearly tame blackbirds and the seasonal swifts swooping overhead. On the long sultry evenings you can watch the bats hunting while sitting outside.

After a day’s sightseeing , take a dip in our pool; we supply beach towels for you to use. Our pool is filtered using ionised salt rather than chlorine to maintain its water quality which, apart from being kinder to the skin, is much better for the environment.

We are a short walk from the Dordogne river and the railway station, ideally situated close to restaurants, local shops and especially the renowned Saturday farmers market which spreads through the town.

“Thank you for a wonderful stay. We had an amazing time in this beautiful home.”
